Userpics Meme and Weekly Top Artists

Comment on this post. I will choose seven userpics from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are using in them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so others can play along.

jadeblood chose these seven:

Because Erica Durance is the best thing about Crackville (um, Smallville), hands down. Nothing against the Chlarkers, although the Blana people can leave the premises.

A quote from the Animaniacs episode, "Meatballs or Consequences". The Warners are about to play a chess game with Death and they are making fun of the surreal atmosphere:

Yakko: All is strange and vague.
Dot: Are we dead?
Yakko: Or is this Ohio?

Plus, I live in Ohio, now... and it's not really that boring. Not really... I promise... :D

Kind of a private joke between me and mark_clark. When we were writing The Devil You Don't Know, I earned the name "Taskmaster." This is the actual Marvel character with that name. I pull him out whenever I need to whoop some @$$.

A series of panels from the highly mourned Nextwave by Warren Ellis. A parody of superhero team comics that made me howl with laughter every month for a year.

An icon from Star Trek IV by the awesome clioidae! (aka Hadrien Asbury, author of Sunspots) When she learned I shared her love for this movie, she made it for me!

Katchoo and David from Strangers in Paradise. I use it whenever I need to hug someone sadly. If you've read the series, you would know why this is such a bittersweet image. (Don't want to spoil that, because EVERYONE on my f-list should consider it required reading, lol)

Tired Ted and Robin from How I Met Your Mother. Barney is purposely boring them to tears with his overlong one-man play. I have many more Barney icons, but this is a great "exhausted" icon for those times I feel, uh, exhausted. :)

And now, for my artists of the week:

Is there anyone else on my f-list who shares my love for Danny Kaye? I picked up a bunch of his music last week, and played almost all of it right away! I'd never heard "I've Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts" before (except from Zazu in The Lion King), and it was great! Also have fallen in love with "Civilization (Bongo Bongo Bongo)" with the Andrews Sisters.

I also must include Flight of the Conchords in my latest list of musical obsessions. I'm thinking I must add both of these artists (and "novelty songs") to my interests ASAP.
