Picture Meme!

The meme in 2 simple steps per person: (created by van_el, stolen from same)
  • For you (the poster):
    1. Take three photos of your desk area as it is, do not stop to tidy up. Inclusion of you at desk in the picture is optional.
    2. Upload the photos onto imageshack, photobucket, flickr, imagehoop, or a similar site and post them and this text to your journal, with an explanation for anything significantly MISSING, if anything.
  • For them (the commentor/friend):
    1. Ask a question about what's in any of the pictures and the poster has to answer it, within reason.
    2. Do this meme yourself!

This is where everyone sees what an utter slob I am! (Please forgive, we all have our faults, right...? *crickets*) Click to see the clutter up close and personal!

I can't tell what kind of computer you have, is that a Dell case?

It's a Compaq. It was higher-powered than we expected to get, and it was on sale... I don't really have any brand loyalty when it comes to computers! But I do have TONS of HD space with all the external hard drives (530 GB combined).

Wow, I really need to update this comp, it is very old but I am very much a grad student.

Here's a much more complicated question (I think), how did you post those pictures so nicely, being both thumbnails and aligned that way? It's very pleasing and not at all overwhelming like most picture posts are. Is this something I won't be able to do without a paid account?

I used http://imageshack.us to upload the pictures. Once you upload a picture, they give you an HTML code to paste for various purposes. If you choose "Thumbnail for Websites" then it will make a small version like the ones I used. I just centered the three images in a row and voila!

It does require that you use the HTML box for entry though. But since I wanted to use van_el's fancy formatting with bullets, I cut and pasted the top part of the meme to Rich Text, and then switched to HTML to paste the thumbnail images.

Do you know the basic HTML for centering?
