Happy LJ-versary to me!

A year ago today, after encouragement from louisemcgregor and therealmarajade, I set up an account here at LiveJournal. And now I absolutely cannot live without this place. I have made so many great friends here that I never would have met otherwise. You all rock!

And so I have a couple of gifts for you. I got this idea from the DC comics fandom girls, who enjoy creating birthday fics and art for each other on their birthdays. I have been privileged myself to receive something this way. So! Here's how it will work:

I will write a short (500-1000 words) ficlet for you for your birthday!
1) Give me at least two weeks notice - ETA: Earlier is fine, I have figured out a good way to keep track!
2) Choose a fandom listed in my profile - but if you have a different request, it wouldn't hurt to try
3) Prompt me with a short story idea
4) Enjoy the surprise!

I can't promise that it will be anything award-winning, but it will be a gift from the heart. ♥

Tomorrow, I will post jenn_1's birthday fic, and one for mark_clark is also in the works.

And for a little gift right now, this little tune - a fluffy, upbeat song about how important your friendships are to me! Geoff Moore and the Distance - A Friend Like U

*kisses* all around!

I had never heard the song or the group before. It is a happy song. For a present, could you let me vent when I get frustrated with a housebound hubby?
I am looking forward to going out on Monday for dinner with a friend. Hubby won't go cause it's too difficult. She and I will probably vent about husbands together.
BTW, I will not go into middle-age quietly. (I will be 48). Does that make me the oldest one here? Did you know that last month I fell off my horse cause I was riding him backwards?;-D

If venting is more therapeutic than fic, vent away! Happy to oblige.

I have about 6 fandom friends that are in their 40s+ -- I would name check them except I'm afraid I'd be wrong about one of them. But some of them are not on LJ. Let's just say you are not the oldest person on my f-list.

And I love the fact that at 37, I'm kind of median age for LJ. So many other online havens skew toward teens.

The older I get, the more I find that numbers are irrelevant. I do find fic more therapeutic than venting.

Well, if that's true - request away! Shall I have a Lois who's frustrated at Clark's homebound state? I can do it in recent comicverse, actually.

Or another prompt? Another fandom? The Muse needs the kick in the pants.

He would be worse than my husband. LOL.
Actually, I keep picturing a bunch of superheroes being interviewed by Oprah.

I love that idea... :D Done! Give me a few days, got another one to finish first, but then I'm all yours!
