And I haven't been around much this weekend because of that book (I just finished it a little while ago), and tons of shopping. Which included this dandy purchase:

It's not a hybrid, as we originally thought, but it's a Honda Fit, which is as close as you can get economy-wise. And $5K cheaper.
A few more

We have a 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid... so we're happily part of the family already.
What exactly are the Firefly folk doing in that icon? *tilts head but gets dizzy*
Aha, then you're ahead of me. I've only been in the family since I got mine in 05. I love it though.
It's from the mule chase scene in Serenity. Where they quickly turn around and everyone slides all over the place. Hehe. It's the only "car" icon I have.
Honestly, my Dodge Intrepid is dead in our driveway at the moment, and if I get hired as a band director, I will have to get a new car. I've thought about a lot of cars (hybrids are at the top of my list), but haven't started looking yet.
Any detailed recs would be welcome.
They are more expensive and usually need to be pre-ordered... but I love my Civic Hybrid. The Fit (the new one we got) is sometimes hard to get, too, because it's very highly rated by Consumer Reports. We drove 45 minutes and had to hold it with a credit card number to make sure it wasn't sold before we could grab it. They are popular. :)
If you can manage to snag a Toyota Prius or a Honda Civic Hybrid, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Berea had a Toyota Prius Hybrid in their Motor Pool. It drove like a dream. I loved driving it and watching the MPG go through the roof on the interstate. :D
I also want you to know that this car is amazing when it comes to transporting stuff-- one of my co-workers has it and I swear to God the amount of stuff she can fit in it boggles the mind. The Honda Fit is a miracle car.
Anyway your car is adorable. What's the size of the engine of that teeny-tiny thing?! lol..
I have no idea how big the engine is, but we're all about the fuel economy. It can accelerate better than my hybrid, though, so it's no slouch!
If you test one out, you'll see what I mean. It feels like you're in a much bigger car, oddly enough.
Talk to you, whenever.
It is a nice car. It's about time that Todd got a decent one again. :)
Yeah, that book is about to be all I'm doing. Wonder of wonders I haven't even started it yet, and I got it Saturday.
The horse took over my weekend. *Snerfle*
Yay for horsie! My mom will be jealous. :)
