To my Spider-Man comics reading friends...

I finally got to read FNSM 21 last night.

Holy crap, that was what I've been waiting for since I jumped aboard this fandom. Go Robbie! Go PAD!

It's like all of my theories and hopes came true in one panel... :D

:D Robbie fanclub! And apparently #23 is a big Jonah issue, so...

I wish the Arrow subplot hadn't fallen through for me in one panel in the same issue, seriously - makes my overall feelings about this one so schizophrenic.

Which panel?

The whole "I AM BLAH TO YOUR BLAH, DARK TO YOUR LIGHT, RANT TO YOUR RANT" spiel with their faces juxtaposed made me realize that, uh, Miss Arrow is black, with blonde hair, because Peter is white with brown hair. I've been thinking it over and I can't think of another reason for that character design.

Which ... has incredibly skeevy undertones! What on earth was Peter David thinking?

Okay, yeah, kinda skeevy... I was very meh about the whole "Other" idea anyway. I thought that the Miss Arrow thing was semi-interesting at first, but now...? You're right. *shrugs*

I'm sad, because I really liked it until this issue.

I feel like she could have made a cool ongoing antagonist with a little more thought, but now she's basically Shathra, only lamer and with added institutionalized racism, jeez.

Honestly, that one convo was one of the things I'd been waiting for since the unmasking. At least now we know for sure that Robbie knew.

I know! But even all of my movieverse fic has featured a Robbie that knows, since he has seemed to in the comics and a few sly shots in the movies. I'm so glad to see it confirmed!!

I'm just glad that they had both Betty and Robbie mention, that it's not that Peter is a good liar that kept his secret for so long, cause he isn't.

It's that most people were willingly blind and refused to see the truth for what it was. It's the same reason that I was glad when they had Ben Urich admit that he knew, because really, there's only so many times that Peter could 'just happen to be at the right place' to get that many shots of Spider-Man, without it getting suspicious.

I equally adored the Ben Urich reveal, I'm just a little cheesed it didn't happen in one of the main titles. But, eh. :)

Better somewhere than nowhere right?

Well, The Pulse was advertised as a title about Jessica Jones and the Daily Bugle folks, with Ben Urich as one of the main characters, so ... I mean, it was his title! *g*

Yeah, yeah.... :D
