Valentine's Day Fic: Dinner Plans

Title: Dinner Plans
Author: htbthomas
Category: Superman Returns
Prompt: #020 Couples – “kitchen” and #023 General – “eggs”
Rating: R (for sexual content – nothing graphic)
Word Count: 2300 words
Summary: A fluffy one-shot set in the future of the Déjà-verse. Clark plans an intimate dinner at home on Valentine’s Day. Written for 12days_of_clois Valentine's Day Challenge.
Spoilers: For Superman Returns.

A/N: This is absolute fluff, completely different in character than the saga that is Déjà Vu. Knowledge of the other story is not required. It seems that the food sequences in that story were quite popular, so what better subject for a one-shot? Enjoy!

Thanks to mark_clark , jenna_knight and betty brant for the beta – and to ancarett for a last minute go-over and the spiffy banner!

Even though I reviewed this wonderful tale on the 12 Days page, I'll do it here as well.

This was a wonderful one shot that fits very well in your DV universe.

It was nice to see that Lois and Clark still have some friskiness after seven years of marriage. One of my favourite parts was how Lois recalled a moment about gossipy co-workers talking about her and Clark's relationship. She was totally Lois with her witty comeback to those nosey people. I really loved that.

The kitchen scene was... hotchy motchy. But the end was totally adorable and funny when Jason came home and saw the shape his parents were in and he totally dismissed it. Plus, he wanted pizza to boot. An excellent ending to a fantastic V-Day fic. Awesome job, Barbara.

Ha! I loved it! A perfect blend of romance and humor, which is always good! Clark and Lois are perpetually the frisky pair, aren't they? ;-) I loved that Jason made a cameo there at the end, and his reaction really made me LOL. Great job on this! It was a lot of fun to read. xD

Yes, Lois and Clark are pretty darn frisky! And poor Jason's just having to get used to it! Luckily, he's inherited his mom's nonchalance, as well as his dad's ability to fine-tune his hearing! :D

I've been waiting to use that "Can we get pizza this time?" line for MONTHS. A plot bunny (you know all about those) that wouldn't go away. Whew! Mission accomplished! ;)

First of all, I need to finish reading the fic, but I'll probably answer over on 12days_of_clois. I started to read it, but I have the most distracting roommate in the world and I'm fairly ADD anyway...

Second of all, seeing as we're clois freaks and all, want to be friends (yeah, that totally just sounded like a six-year-old, lol!)

Third of all, I was reading katshakespeare's latest entry, and saw the questions you asked her. You grew up in Visalia? I'm from Hanford! My dad's one of the librarians in Visalia these days. Visalia was our SALVATION! lol, that is, when we didn't have the time to go to Fresno.

Oh, I hope you do get time to read the fic... it was a hoot to write.

ROFL! Hanford?? I actually was born in Tulare, then lived in Visalia a while, and went to high school in Exeter. You should see what I said about Visalia in katshakespeare's interview entry! :P But I've been to Hanford many a time, mostly to get on the Amtrak!

Friend away. :) Or you might have already - haven't been all the way through my email!

Oh, no worries, I totally will!

And I added to the Visalianess on the other entry, hehe. Yeah, I was actually born on Staten Island, then we ended up moving in with the grandparents in the Bay Area, and the only place my dad found a job was Lemoore...then he got promoted to Hanford. Woo hoo! All I can say is...I couldn't get out of that town fast enough, man. It's just so much fun to find fellow Valley people. I'm at school in Utah and every so often one of us surfaces. Met a guy from Visalia last semester. Crazy, crazy!

And I friended =)

Question. I know we have 12days of clois for prompt challenges, but is there just a regular Clois fanfic-only community on LJ?
htbthomas

There is a Clois community where people post icons, videos, news, reactions and fic: clois. But I'm not sure there's fic-only comm. If you find it, let me know!

If I can't find one, I might create one. Interested?

I just might be! But there is superman_return already. So if I write something Smallville, I just might use it. But I'd probably read fic for it, too.

Mmn that's a nice community. Yeah -- I mean, I know there's somms like that, with icons, the movies, etc. I was thinking a Clois fic community that accepts only fanfiction but from ANY incarnation. So like 12days of clois only all fic all the time ...
