'Tis the season...

... for grading buttloads of tests!  Grr.

Grades are due Tuesday at midnight... and if I don't want to go insane this weekend, I really should grade 80 tests tonight.  That's right. 8. 0.  And then another 80 this weekend, and 60 more on Monday.  Double Grr..

On a brighter note, I have my outline all finished for Ch. 29!  But having time to write.... not so hopeful.  :(

8:25pm - 60 left!
9:01pm - 40 left!
9:41pm - 20 left!
10:27pm - finished today's set!!

Now for the 7th-8th grade test I forgot about...

Finished at 11pm!  Yay!  But the cycle starts over tonight... Sigh...

Ick! 80 tests?! *sympathetic pat on the shoulder* My sisters had nights like that. Big cups of caffinated beverages and lots of privacy time. Can't say I know what you're going through, but I have a pretty good idea how much it sucks.

*BIG hugs*

I definitely need the caffeine.

I am depriving myself of Crackville until they are done! One class down, three to go!

Crackville deprivation? This is intense! *grin*

Only school, and generally not even that, would keep me from Crackville!

But grades are due...

Awww... *hugs*

Another class down - 2 more to go!

You can do it! Crackville awaits...and it was GOOD! :-D

Yay for Crackville!

I realized I had YET another school related task - create a test for 7th-8th grade... Boo.

But another one down! 1 class to go, and the test.

You can do it, you can do it... :-D

10:27pm - finished today's set!!

*cheers you on!*

You can do it, sis. Focus on the reward of sleep!

*doubts she was motivating*

Oh well. *continues to cheer*

I finished them! About 11pm - and I went straight to bed, good for me!

No Crackville, though. I was thinking I might watch a little before I go to school. :)

Holy craponastick! 80 tests! *huggles to Barb* Are they music tests? You must have a butt-load of kiddos in each class!

Oct. 20th, 2006 10:05 am (UTC)
Yes, music tests - I give a test once a quarter to all students from Grades 3-8. And of course, this first time, I saved it all for the last week *dumb idea*

I have 400 students altogether, which adds up to.... hmm... 260 tests to grade before Tuesday morning. :(

That doesn't sound like a lot of fun. *thinks if her kids have music tests*

I need to email you - I'm part of School commission for our school, and we just did a technology tour of area schools and the people who we are interested in doing our technology mentioned your school as one of the ones that they did/work with.

Just curious from a teacher's perspective (and outside the radar of the sales rep) what you think. If I get time today, I'll drop you an email.

Hope you get all that grading done.

Do your kids have tests? I'm going to say... maybe, maybe not. I have always given them, mostly because it's hard to justify a grade, or that they have actually learned something other than singing a bunch of songs, unless I do.

And usually the parents are a little shocked at how much they have to know, but, I'm just following the national standards for music. Eh, whatcha gonna do? The new kids to our school this year (did yours pick up a ton of kids as well after the closings?) are mostly in shock, too.

VARtek? Well... talk more later. There's good and bad about them.

My poor friend. Again, I would help if I could but I'd probably screw everything up and give you more work to do in the process, lol. It's too bad that you don't have a TA to help because I have a feeling that one would come in handy about now. Good luck, my dear.

A TA would be darn handy... I have one, but she's on academic probation... sigh.

Anyway, I hope I can finish watching Crackville. I watched the first fifteen minutes this morning - already ranks up there as one of my faves. Go Lois!

Academic probation, now that has to suck. I feel sorry for your TA and I hope she'll be able to help you out soon.

Smallville was great last night and it is one of the best episodes of the season and quite possibly the series. Lois was awesome and I think you'll enjoy the end.

Good luck with all the work! I know that you'll get it all done. And I hope that you find time to watch "Crackville". It was by far the best episode of the season.
Oct. 20th, 2006 08:13 pm (UTC)
It was obvious from just the first 15 minutes! I can't wait. I've been thinking about it all day...
