Interview Meme x3

I saw this everywhere on my f-list earlier this week, but I finally found time to answer the questions. I doubt very many will want to play, but some might enjoy reading the answers. :)

Leave me a comment saying "interview me."
I will ask you five questions.
Post the answers on your lj and then interview your friends!

First, my answers for svgurl:

1. Who do you look up to?
When I was younger, I looked up to my parents and grandparents, as well as several of my teachers. I wanted to be a respected adult, good at my job, and happy in my family life. I still do look up to them, of course, but I think now that I am a parent and established in my career there is more mutual respect than "looking up", if that makes any sense.

2. If you could meet any fictional character, who would you choose and why?
I'm not sure, honestly! Part of the fun of fictional characters is that they are fictional. I enjoy dreaming that I am them... or that I'm one of their canon companions... but I rarely think I would actually like to meet them. :)

3. What was your favorite TV show as a kid?
All sorts of cartoons - mostly WB cartoons. I don't remember a primetime show I just HAD to see, though.

4. If you were granted 3 wishes, what would you wish for?
Health for my family, stable finances (I've long since passed wanting to be rich), and being able to travel the world.

5. How has fandom changed your life?
In many ways! I've become much more social, making tons of friends. And many have become closer than anyone I know in "real life". I also discovered my love for writing fiction, which has really given me lots of joy.

Next, my answers for kassandrajones:

1. When did you first start reading comics and why?
I started reading comics after I really got into the Spider-Man movieverse fandom. The more I wrote and read fanfic, the more I wanted to know the background of the character. So I dove into Amazing Spider-Man, starting with J. Michael Straczynski's run, and then added All-Star Superman. From there I grew to over 25 DC, Marvel and Indie titles.

2. What's your favorite incarnation of Superman/Clark?
That's a tough one. The first one I fell in love with was Christopher Reeve, but Dean Cain's version is the one that first drew me into fandom.

3. What's your favorite episode of HIMYM?
I love so many! But Zip, Zip, Zip (the first spark of Barney/Robin), and Sandcastles in the Sand (the culmination of all that tension) stand out highest!

4. Who's your favorite J-pop artist?
Ai Otsuka. I love her girlish voice, and the interesting arrangements in her songs.

5. Are you where you thought you would be at this point in your life?
Pretty much, yeah! I tend to be very goal-oriented, so once I decided I would be a music teacher, there wasn't much to stop me. :D I never thought I'd want to be a novelist, though, so there are some surprises along the way, which makes life fun. ♥

Finally, my answers for handyhunter:

1. What do you think of cats?
We have two cuties! Arpeggio and Counterpoint - black, 7-month old brothers. Arpeggio is very, very affectionate with me, but he also purrs in my ear all night long, which can be annoying. Counterpoint is calmer and more shy, but I prefer to snuggle up with him. My daughter loves Arpeggio because he'll put up with her hugs and chasing a lot more. :D (I do sense there is an ulterior motive to this question, though... are the cats you're petsitting behaving any better?)

2. What fictional character would you go on a date with?
See my answer to svgurl about how there aren't really any characters I would want to meet... but I suppose if I were a character in Heroes, I would want to go on a date with Hiro Nakamura, so that he could take me on a teleportation tour of the world. :)

3. What are you going to be for Halloween?
A mom. LOL, I know that's lame, but my daughter dresses up and I take her around.

4. If there was something in comics you could change, what would it be?
Probably the need for writers to make huge overriding changes to characters and their supporting casts. Organic change is one thing - I like it when characters grow and change. But huge life-altering events? Every 2-3 years? Not necessary.

5. Where on his person, in that skin tight suit, would Scott Summers carry a spare costume and visor? (because you know he would.)

Could he carry a backpack? LOL, I have no idea. Or maybe he wears an even tighter second set under the first.
