Results Are In!
*breathes huge sigh of relief*

And so far, there haven't been any reported mistakes... *crosses fingers*

I want to express a huge thank you to everyone who participated and voted, not just those who voted for me. (Though I really appreciate that, too!!)

I won five awards (about 3 more than I thought I had a chance at, actually).

*HUGE SQUISHY HUGS*

Here they are: )

My nominations for the 2008 SMFA
I'm sure most of my Supes fandom pals have already seen the results ALL over their f-page, but here is the list of my nominations, just in case:

My noms )

Thank you so much to all of you who nominated me for awards! This is way more than I would have thought even had a chance. I don't think I'll win in most of those categories - honestly, the competition is very stiff. But it just continues to confirm to me what an awesome fandom this is!

Please vote sometime in the next few weeks, regardless of who you eventually choose! *hugs*

'Cause, um, it seemed like the thing to do?
So, I just spammed a lot of your friends' pages with advertising for the 2008 [info]supes_mv_awards, right?

Well, considering that this year I don't have an epic in the running (It's someone else's turn! Good luck, guys!) I thought I'd make a handy list of what I wrote that qualifies for the awards - all of it either in the Super-Short or Short Category, though they would also qualify for a few of the other Genre and Moments categories. So, my Superman movieverse fanfiction written between June 2007 and June 2008:

Pimping the Nominations for [info]supes_mv_awards
Today, nominations for the 2nd annual [info]supes_mv_awards opened. They'll run all of the month of June! That gives you plenty of time to read up and collect your nominations. Please go over, take a gander and bookmark it to nominate!

I'm looking forward to lots of new talent (and old) getting noms.

[info]supes_mv_awards!

And now for something tangentially related... 1943's Super-Rabbit! ([info]dragontail, LJ might get a kick out of this one, too). It's based on the old Fleischer Superman cartoons, mostly, but it's funny as heck. ♥

My daughter watched it for the first time today, and I realized many of you may never have seen it!

Well, if you hadn't heard...
...the awards have been announced at [info]supes_mv_awards! And if I wasn't flabbergasted enough by all the noms... I actually won several of them! *twirls*

So thank you to everyone on my f-list and beyond who voted for me. I can't express how much your support means.

Okay, so it looks like everyone else is doing it...
...and far be it for me not to jump on the bandwagon! I, too, signed up for a prompt for the Clois 100 challenge at [info]12days_of_clois.

Clois 100!

I picked "Wrinkled" - and it's going to be that long-awaited Jimmy-POV one-shot I've mentioned to some of you before. More details forthcoming.

And there's a little more than a week left for voting at [info]supes_mv_awards. About 40 people have put in their votes... won't you? :)

Final Ballots are up - GO VOTE!
Well, I'm sure a bunch of you will have this all over your friends page today, but I don't want to leave any stone unturned...

The voting at [info]supes_mv_awards is now open! Voting will be open from July 1, 2007 to July 14, 2007. Comments will be screened, if any voter has a question. You must have a LiveJournal account to participate in voting.

We highly recommend that you take your time in voting. Each story is linked so that you may read or refresh your mind about any of the stories.

Thanks to [info]bistyboo1974 for the amazing banners! The winner in each category will be given a personalized banner to display as they see fit. Congratulations to all who were nominated -- and good luck!

Ballot Links: Length Ballot // Genre Ballot // Moments Ballot // Other Bests Ballot

And I want to add, on a personal note, thank you! to everyone who nominated me. *blush* We have so many talented writers in this fandom, and I am so happy that we get to celebrate those people. There were some great stories that didn't make the final cut, though, so I plan to make the complete nominations list (with links) available once voting is done. If you haven't read much on these lists, you owe it to yourself to get in some solid summer reading! (I mean, what else are you gonna do while you wait for HP7, eh? *wink*)

*takes fingernails out of mouth now that the ballots are finally live*

A little of this and a little of that...
For the first time ever, and I completely blame/credit co-author [info]jenn_1 for keeping on me for my portion, we have our [info]12days_of_clois ficlet done! And way ahead of time! (Usually I get mine into my betas' hands the day before it's due or the day of!)

Just in case you hadn't already heard from me, the fic is based on two wedding prompts, and is called Impressions. It's Clark and Lois' wedding, Déjà-verse, seen through the eyes of Clark, Lois, Jason, Martha, Richard and Lana.

Does anyone want a teaser? I'll post one in my next entry if there's a demand. Maybe even one for each character? :) (Gotta get approval from the co-author first, though...)

And now for some celebrating! I just received review #1800 on Déjà Vu at ff.net! *twirls* Considering I barely crack 100 on my other fics, I'm thrilled! Thank you to all of you on this list that contributed to that total! I ♥ you guys.

Finally, the results of the poll. Most of you were open to ideas based on feedback and your Muses are stifled from the lack of it. Which was exactly my own response. And it seems that the poll also served its purpose admirably - everyone could see the voting totals without being able to see who voted for what.

And of course - don't forget your noms at [info]supes_mv_awards. BTW, is there anyone willing to send out PMs over at ff.net? The system only allows 24 per user per day. Between the mods, we've contacted about 250 people, but I still have a long list. The goal is to contact all writers and quite a few of the reviewers in the Superman fandom by the end of the week.

Night, kids!

Feedback poll - for testing purposes. Participate, and I'll post the results later!
Everyone, don't forget to "Watch" [info]supes_mv_awards!!  We've had 13 people nominate, but we need more.  Keep pimping the community!

A random poll just so I can test out the settings of "Open to All, Viewable to None"

Poll #1001371 Feedback Poll
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: None

How does feedback affect the way you write?

I try to incorporate as many suggestions as I can.
1 (3.2%)

If an idea appeals to me, I'll use it.
22 (71.0%)

If enough people are clamoring for something, I bend to pressure.
6 (19.4%)

I follow my own vision, no matter what.
2 (6.5%)

Feedback? What's that?
0 (0.0%)

Does the amount of feedback affect how quickly you write?

Yes, absolutely - if no one is liking my story, why should I ever write it?
3 (9.7%)

Somewhat - the Muse is slow to come out of hiding if she feels unappreciated
19 (61.3%)

It depends on what kind of feedback.
8 (25.8%)

I write my stories for me and me only. Who cares who likes it, as long as I do!
1 (3.2%)

Again, what is this feedback thing you speak of?
0 (0.0%)

Superman Returns Fanfic Awards
Hey, everyone! [info]alphielj had an idea a few months ago, after seeing the Twilight fandom awards - why don't we have Fanfic Awards for the Superman movieverse? The SR fandom will officially be a year old on June 30th, and what better way to celebrate it than to have fanfiction awards!

So I got [info]bistyboo1974 involved as well, and after a couple days of work... voila! We have a community -- [info]supes_mv_awards!

Please go over and nominate your favorite stories - there are LOTS of categories to spread the love between! And spread the word, we'd like this to include as much of the Superman fandom as possible.

We ♥ you guys!
