1. Little one had her birthday on Thursday -- she's now five!

2. Finally saw Iron Man last night! Yayz! I know that I've been leaving random bits of squee on everyone's LJ already, but I hadn't actually seen it yet. No plot bunnies, though, so don't worry.

3. We took the girl to a friend's house while we went to dinner and the movie - and she came back with painted fingernails. One hand is red, the other is blue. It's so cute. She's turning into a regular little girl. :)

4. I'm feeling somewhat better today, but still having a sore stomach. I hope it's gone by Monday, because being sick so close to the end of school is sucky.

5. Oh, yeah, it's our anniversary today. Sixteen years. :)

Okay, so you know I love my LJ too much when I get all excited about posting this silly end-of-year meme! (Especially when I should be working on yuletide, or 12days_of_clois or the two birthday fics for next week...) Last December, I was all jealous that I didn't have a year's worth of entries yet to use... :D

January: Aaaaaaaand, after a longer than expected break between chapters, here I am again. I guess my Christmas vacation didn’t provide me as much free time as I had hoped.

Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane banner by jess5302!

A year ago today, after encouragement from louisemcgregor and therealmarajade, I set up an account here at LiveJournal. And now I absolutely cannot live without this place. I have made so many great friends here that I never would have met otherwise. You all rock!

And so I have a couple of gifts for you. I got this idea from the DC comics fandom girls, who enjoy creating birthday fics and art for each other on their birthdays. I have been privileged myself to receive something this way. So! Here's how it will work:

I will write a short (500-1000 words) ficlet for you for your birthday!
1) Give me at least two weeks notice - ETA: Earlier is fine, I have figured out a good way to keep track!
2) Choose a fandom listed in my profile - but if you have a different request, it wouldn't hurt to try
3) Prompt me with a short story idea
4) Enjoy the surprise!

I can't promise that it will be anything award-winning, but it will be a gift from the heart. ♥
