To my yuletide Santa (And seasonalmarvels writer/artist):

Hi!

I'm really excited to be part of the fun this year! I hope that you found something in my request list that grabs you! And thank you in advance for the time you're putting into this event.

Here are a few things you should know about me and my fic tastes:

I LIKE:
** All different genres - drama, romance, comedy, suspense, action... so don't worry about the tone of the piece.
** Stories that end with a bang - a loose end, a punch line, a "wow, never thought of that" line...
** Either gen or het
** Canon! I prefer the characters be as close to their canon counterparts as you are able to manage.

I DON'T MIND:
** Sexual scenes, but keep them het, and no kink or threesomes, please.

I DON'T LIKE:
** Deathfic, depressing stories (although unrequited love is okay), BDSM, torture fic

If you want to get a feel for my writing style, visit my archive, or look at the short pieces on my main LJ.

I am unfamiliar with this interesting event! Where can I find your request list?

Weeeeellllll....

yuletide is a secret Santa-style fic exchange, with 1250 participants this year. Signups closed last night, though. :( I didn't learn about the 2006 exchange until it was too late, myself, so there's always next year!

One submits a list of 3-4 requests, and offers 3 or more fandoms to write in. They match you up anonymously, and we have until Dec. 19th to write a 1000-word story.

However... the request lists are supposed to be kept secret, so I can't tell what I requested. Only the person who receives my list and the mods are supposed to know. Likewise, I can't reveal who or what fandom I'm writing for, either.

But once authors are revealed on Jan. 1st, I'll be sure to let you know what I wrote, and what my author wrote for me! :D

Oh that's neat! Too bad I didn't know, but I'll sign up next year!

I thought what you request can be revealed. A few people on my flist have revealed theirs, just because or to outline specific requests for whatever fandom they'd like.

They didn't, however, reveal which ones they received.

If yuletide weren't so scary, I might have signed up. :D

Am friending, if you don't mind. :)

Yeah, I kinda discovered that later (but I didn't change anything in this entry) when the person I was assigned posted specific information about each of the fandoms she requsted.

However, I pretty much requested the stuff I volunteered to write... so I am going to keep it under wraps. The mods didn't specifically say this in so many words, but I kinda got the feeling "the less said the better" from the FAQ and other posts. :)

Anyway, yeah! Friending is awesome! Friended you back!

Is it funny that I thought as soon as I decided what to say here "Oh, I wonder what willow_diamond will think of that"?? :D

icon
Hi hi, just wanted to let you know that your b&w "Sad Clark" icon was made by me (over at houseoficons), I was just looking through your user pics to snag any Clark icons I don't have yet :o) and found mine there. Hee!

Re: icon
Yay! That's the first time I've been able to find out who made an icon I didn't know who to credit! *twirls* Will fix now!

I saved so many when I first came to LJ, and was silly enough not to know how to keep a record of where they came from! :)

Secret style fic santa? awesome i'll be up for that next year :) so what is the next themed fic? can't be new year can it? Most won't be done with their christmas fic so it's valentines? hmmm...that could be interesting.

Themed fic? As far as yuletide is considered, one doesn't have to write a Christmas-themed story. It's simply a chance to write a story of any type in a fandom that doesn't get very much fanfiction love.

I found out after this post that I am allowed to say what fandoms I requested, though I'm not allowed to say what fandoms I received to write for. I requested Scrubs, Monk, Spider-Man comics (Peter/MJ) and How I Met Your Mother.

A present
Come over to my LJ and I have a present for you...well I felt bad because your guess at my '*' was so good and in the end when I did finish it was a bit of a revelation.
I just whipped up a little 700 or so word thing for you.

Just tell me what kind of cookie you want and I will find it :)

Re: A present
Aww glad you liked it :) I was a bit worried as i've never written for them.

It was to be honest a random thing I did at 3 am. Still I can foresee a Spider-man 2 kiss interpretation in your future 'cause I love ya so much :P

*Feels all warm and X-massy inside* "Joy to the world!"
